Tekken Movie DVD Box Art looks very Tekken-ish

As I posted earlier, the real trailer for the live-action Tekken movie is now online all over Youtube. Well, apparently the spot came originally from Play.com (UK), which has not only the trailer but a preorder entry for the movie’s DVD. The DVD of course comes with some slick box art (seen above). Apparently you can get the flick on disc by May 2010 in UK, some time after the Japanese theater release in March. Most probably even long before then we’ll be seeing the movie all over the place already.

Anyway, the box art looks cool and is nicely similar in overall color scheme/hues of the Tekken 6 artworks. Still not too hot with Kazuya sporting a moustache (he’d probably look more like Kaz if he just had a shave, dammit) and no red eye. Oh well. Kinda bummed that there’s no Asuka or Lili in the flick, but Christie looks to be pretty awesome. More on this flick as we get it.

Tekken is set in a war-ravaged future ruled no longer by governments, but by corporations- the most powerful of which is the Mishima Zaibatsu. In order to keep the masses in check, Mishima holds the Tekken, or King of Iron Fist Tournament, where fighters battle until only the strongest remains standing.
Into this nightmare we follow Jin Kazama (Jon Foo), a young man looking to avenge his mother’s death. Only by winning Tekken can Jin reach the tournament’s sinister sponsor, Heihachi Mishima (Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa). But in doing so, Jin must face not only the world’s deadliest combatants but his own personal demons, as well as a hidden plot that threatens all of humanity. The film adaptation of Namco-Bandai’s world-famous and long-running videogame series is directed by Dwight Little.
