Tekken 6 Box Art Updated, PSP Release Delay

I found this pic over at Play-Asia. It’s from the entry of the Japanese PS3 version of Tekken 6, and as you can see it’s now sporting the shiny, new Playstation 3 look and logo that came with the announcement of the PS3 Slim. Bye-bye Spiderman 3 Text! I assume that the other versions (US, Euro and Asia) will follow suit shortly. Man, this game’s been in development so long, it’s gone through a console logo change.

Anyway, just a wee snippet, that. Also, it seems that if you’re awaiting Tekken 6 and can’t afford a big boy console, you may have to wait a bit for your PSP version- the portable port has now been given a November release date by both Gamestop and Play-Asia, and I think that kinda more-or-less clinches it. Perhaps the PSP version is giving the devs a bit more difficulty in adapting all the stuff from the full-size games, or maybe Namco-Bandai just wants to stagger their release, perhaps giving more focus on the PS3 and Xbox360 versions. Maybe. All we can do is keep waiting then.

  1. Yeah PSP version is being released around one week after the PS3/360 release. Mainly for marketing purposes I suppose.

  2. I wish the US cover didn’t have King and Nina on it. They look out of place.

  3. Oppsy. Well what are you getting the game for? The boxart? Lol.

  4. In my opinion, the box art should have had Jin on the front with Hei and Kaz behind, since he’s at the center of the conflict- but may be his sideways-facing artwork wasn’t the best fit for that. ^_^
