Gamespot awards Tekken 6 “Best Fighting Game” at E3

As a follow-up to the just-concluded E3 Expo 2009, Gamespot awarded Namco-Bandai’s fighting sequel, the console versions of Tekken 6, the award for ‘Best Fighting Game’. Also in the category were Marvel VS Capcom 2 (PS3, Xbox 360), Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny (PSP), Tatsunoko VS Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars (Wii), and The King of Fighters XII (PS3, Xbox 360).

Gamespot cited Tekken 6’s huge 40-strong roster of fighters, which includes old favorites and newcomers as well as the inclusion of the new Scenario Campaign mode as proof that the console versions will live up to Namco-Bandai’s tradition of chock-full-of-goodness home ports.

But come on… Tekken 6 winning Best Fighting Game is a No Brainer. I can’t figure out why so many sites are so crazy about Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Anyway, this is pretty cool that a big gaming site finally gives props to the Real Deal that is Tekken 6. It’s gonna rule the fighting arena later this year, and that’s a fact.

Tekken 6 is slated for PS3, Xbox360 and PSP this Fall 2009.

  1. Haha, FINALLY someone got it right. Check this out, my failed attempt at the Death Combo, poor me, missed the glass, off angle I suppose.

  2. New info from Twitter Bob, looks like something about the Collectors Edition will be known!

‘Crazy. Just saw some of the pre-order items for T6. AND something else that the any hardcore fight game fan will love. 6/22 big news…’

    • Yep. Methinks this may be what Fighter’s Generation mentioned- A game bundle with a wireless fight stick. Wireless would be pretty cool… I already have a Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 stick, but a wireless one would be so much cooler.
