Katsuhiro Harada’s Tekken 6 Blog

No, I’m not talking about this site. Namco-Bandai’s Katsuhiro Harada, the director of the Tekken team, just put up a blog on IGN. His first post is pretty lengthy, talking about Tekken 6’s new animation effects in detail, even posting comparison pics.
The best parts for me were him saying that while the Editor’s Day trailer was pretty slick, it moved in 30fps, while the final game will move at 60fps… wow! He also mentioned thinking about putting in an option for turning off the full-motion body blur effects on the consoles- which would rock. As much as I love the blur, there are moments when you wanna see crisp detail, so I hope he does indeed put this in.
Harada-san goes on to talk about Namco’s office (man, they have T6BR machines in their place of work! Awesome!!!) and it’s unusual construction. Some cool pics, as well.

Nicely enough, this was the same as in SCIV- the blog should be a place to regularly visit for more info and news on the Tekken 6 as we creep closer and closer to the release. We’re getting there… getting there…

Anyway, check out the blog here.

  1. Nice find! I liked the motion blur comparison. Pictures don’t do it justice though, it looks brilliant when your actually playing the game. But a on/off feature would be nice.

  2. Tekken 6 is great, for the fact that I HAVEN’T PLAYED IT! Ever since it came out i was dying to get it, but what a dissapointment that it wasn’t on PS2! My family have to waste money on other consoles! Even though your (Harada) clever and imaginative, you have made me upset. I mean, what’s wrong with it being on ps2? If somebody answers this question sensibly and correctly, then no more complaints from me. So what if the ps2 is old, isn’t this game fit for a ps2! So if tekken 7 and and tekken tag 2 isn’t on ps2, then it’s goodbye tekken. You know what that means, that you’ve lost a sale/customer.
