Mysterious Ad Teases Kojima’s Next Game

What lies hidden in this cryptic picture?

There’s a mystery afoot, and Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima is in the thick of it. Rumor has it that the next game from this popular and eccentric creator will be revealed at E3, and this early there’s already some teasing. Kojima Productions recently put out a double-page ad featuring a landscape photo with some eerie stormclouds and the date ’09-5-18′. Since then, Famitsu Magazine of Japan has been eating up the mystery, postulating on what hidden images can be found in the photo- everything from shapes in the clouds to the mysterious figures in the distance to the mansion partially hidden by the flora. It’s all pretty cryptic and intriguing… but only Kojima knows for sure what the heck is going on… More on this as we get it, I guess… or on May 18.

  1. Probably a Raiden (MGS) game.

Raiden means thunder and lightning, so the clouds could be suggesting a storm.

Plus, the outdoor environment with the grass etc could mean this is a prequel taking place while Raiden was in the civil war.

Kojima has previously expressed interest in making a war game but never mentioned it would be related to MGS4.

  2. Very intriguing. 😀

  3. DUDE!! I just discovered something new about it! If you press CTRL+U, you can see the code, and this is what came up.

Ooooo, might be another MGS Game!
