Soulcalibur IV: Still Burning…

Okay, it’s been a couple of weeks since I got my copy of Soulcalibur IV, and I’m still playing it for hours on end. That’s quality for you. It’s not just the hot babes and nubile flesh, bouncy boobs (which are far better than the DOA babes ever were) and bikini fights (which never get old)… the game just plays great. The animations of the fighters is amazing to watch- you just have to sit back and appreciate the work that went into this game’s visuals. From the simple ‘solid’ quality of the character models and the exquisite detail of the fighters from head to toe to the complex movements and animations running at 60 frames per second… This game isn’t just fun to play, it’s a joy to watch.

Then there’s the Character Customization and Creation mode. It’s so wonderful in this day and age of gaming that programmers have finally allowed players to tinker with iconic characters, with all that this entails. And yeah, you can go as base as just seeing your fave fighters in their undies or get creative and try to recreate popular characters in other games, anime, movies and pop culture in SCIV. The great thing is, downloadable content should extend and improve this feature even more- hopefully Project Soul and Namco-Bandai will continue to support this with periodic updates and new stuff… just keep the quality up and I’ll bite.

I fully expect to be playing SCIV for a long time to come. Man, it’s these kinds of titles that make being a gamer so great. Later then!
