Rumors of MGS5…
Kotaku posted recently an article about now-former Kojima Productions Assistant Producer Ryan Payton’s leaving the fold of Solid Snake’s creator. Now, while the exit of Konami’s face and voice during MGS4′s making and arrival is pretty sad to hear… he does give kind of a hint of a sequel, which fans should eat up like candy, according to IGN.
“It’ll be hard not being involved in MGS5, but I’ve got the utmost confidence that Hideo Kojima, Ken Imaizumi, and our amazing team will put together another blockbuster game. I’ll be cheering from the sidelines,” Payton said.
Hmmm. Well, that’s nice to hear. Of course, Konami and Kojima Productions haven’t said anything yet (nor do we expect them to anytime soon), but this is pretty encouraging. I do hope that they take the advice of pretty much everyone and keep moving forward. No more prequels, no more pushing Ol’ Snake off his hammock for another mission… just push it forward. Same awesome world and setting, new hero, new villain, new mysteries, new legend built on awesome foundations. We’ll just have to see.
