Tekken Movie Update

Here’s a tiny bit of news on the much-anticipated(?) Tekken movie. Actor Luke Goss (Blade II, Hellboy 2) has been cast as genetically-engineered boxing champ, Steve Fox. While Steve is supposedly a lot younger than the actor, I think they’ve got the look down pat. In any case, I liked Goss in Blade 2, so he’s a pretty good performer and used to very physical roles. More on this as it happens.

On related news, Japan will be getting the latest update for the arcade version of Tekken 6 supposedly in late February. The update will include the new Bonus Stage boss, Nancy, a Ghost Character Battle mode, a Trial Attack Mode (where you have to complete various tasks). Aside from these, nightly updates will also be applied in the early morning hours, upon which Tekken.net will be offline.

A lot of this stuff is already on Asian/International versions, but the nightly update thing is intriguing. Hopefully this will bring more customizations and costumes, as what the characters have that are already in the game can’t be considered ‘large’. Hopefully by the time the PS3 version arrives, we’ll have tons more stuff for our fighters to wear and get attached to. Heh.
