Tekken 6 Watch in Manila: Disappointment

UPDATE: According to Fei Hung at the TZ Forums, there’s NO Tekken 6 at Mall of Asia right now. Apparently the original poster who brought the news was misinformed by some employee who doesn’t know the difference between T6 and DR. Too bad.

I didn’t have the time yesterday to go all the way to Mall of Asia to check out the supposed Tekken 6 machine already there, but I did get the opportunity to pass by a couple of other major Metro Manila malls while on my way home last night. What did I find? I found Jack. Zilch. Nada. The arcades in Glorietta Timezone and Megamall didn’t have the latest Tekken yet- all they have is Dark Resurrection. And people are all playing those crappy Deal or No Deal games. What the Hell?

Anyways, with Tekken 5 and DR, we were able to get the full set- cards and customizations and everything. I just hope that with Tekken 6 we get the stuff we need to do the customizations. I don’t know how this will be done outside of Japan, since we don’t have Tekken.net or the advanced features available to Japanese mobile phones here (and customs are done totally by mobile there in Japan). I hope the infrastructure for international Tekken 6 gaming is already done and in place. Otherwise, any Tekken 6 machine here would be pretty pointless without any progression and achievements.

Darn it, Namco, announce the PS3 version already, willya??
